(Charlottesville, VA & Boulder, CO) July 5, 2017 – Silverchair Information Systems and the Geological Society of America, Inc. (GSA), in partnership with GeoScienceWorld (GSW), today announced the launch of the fully integrated GSA publications portal on the Silverchair Platform for GSA’s journals and ebooks. This migration occurs in conjunction with GSW's newly expanded Society Services program.

The new portal includes four leading journals in the geosciences space, as well as a revamped books platform with over 900 ebooks. GSA’s journals include Geology, the #1 journal in the Web of Science’s “geology” category for eleven years in a row, as well as GSA Bulletin, Geosphere, and Lithosphere. In addition to hosting all years of these highly requested GSA journals, GSA adds 742 ebooks from its Special Papers and Memoirs series to the 184 GSA ebooks currently hosted as part of the GeoScienceWorld eBook Collections.

“The Geological Society of America substantially enhances its offerings on the Silverchair Platform,” said Thane Kerner, Silverchair CEO. “By building atop the new infrastructure and tools created for GSW, GSA will further increase the dissemination of its premier publications while providing distinctive value for its membership, authors, and readers.”

“Having all of our publications available in one location will reduce costs, simplify access, and broaden our reach,” said Vicki McConnell, GSA Executive Director. “The Silverchair Platform offers distinctive designs that maximize content discoverability and ensure a streamlined experience for our readers and subscribers.”
