(Charlottesville, VA and Durham, NC) November 27, 2017 –Duke University Press (DUP) and Silverchair Information Systems announced today the launch of DUP’s extensive collection of scholarly journals, books, and electronic collections in the humanities and social sciences on the Silverchair Platform at read.dukeupress.edu. The new site features an improved, integrated, and responsive user experience.

Duke University Press publishes over 50 journals, offers five digital collections, and has well over 2,300 scholarly books available online. The migration of DUP’s humanities and social sciences journals and e-books provides scholars with a single reading and research experience across books and journals. Readers can now leverage DUP’s unified discovery platform to find content, and images and illustrations are presented alongside scholarly text to enhance the reading experience.

“We are thrilled to host another of the world’s most respected university presses,” said Thane Kerner, Silverchair CEO. “Duke University Press’s omni-format offerings are now accessible from one integrated, flexible delivery platform, enabling rapid ideation and experimentation in new ways to serve scholars and libraries. We are proud to support this deep and interconnected body of scholarship in the humanities and social sciences.”

“Silverchair offers us a modern, secure technology platform combined with the kind of creative and flexible approach necessary to match our innovative, dynamic publications and products,” said Steve Cohn, Director of Duke University Press.

Librarians, consortia, and vendors can consult DUP’s Platform Migration Resource Page for additional details, or visit read.dukeupress.edu.
