John Campbell is Product Strategy Director for OUP’s Academic business. John works with a talented team driving product and platform strategy for OUP’s journal and scholarly programmes, covering 500 journals and over 300 society partners. Technology drives business transformation and digital engagement, but also complex organizational change. Working at the heart of the digital publishing industry for over twenty years, both commercial and non-profit, John is focused on meeting high-impact content with the right technology solutions.
Chief Transformation Officer, AIP Publishing
Ann leads the Transformation Office at AIP Publishing and is charged with increasing organizational velocity, flexibility, and strategic alignment in data and analytics, new product development, and ongoing product operations. Ann joined AIP Publishing in January 2022 after more than a decade as Founder and CEO of Delta Think, Inc, a strategic consultancy in scholarly communications. She has also served as Chief Digital Officer at PLOS and has held several board and advisory roles in nonprofit, commercial, and startup organizations. Since the start of her career, Ann has been passionately interested in organizational evolution and working with organizations that are data driven and future focused. She has a MS from SUNY Stony Brook in Policy Analysis and Public Management and an MS in Business Analytics from the NYU Stern School.

Joanne Sheppard is Senior Vice-President for Strategy and Investments at Holtzbrinck Publishing Group. She works for the majority shareholder of Springer Nature and the owner of Digital Science. Sheppard provides CEO-level strategy support globally in the areas of science and technology. In practice, this means working closely with tech start ups and gaming out strategic options to challenges facing scientists. Prior to this, Sheppard was the Vice-President of Strategy for Cell Press.

Amanda Fielding is Director of Product Management at McGraw Hill, overseeing the Professional Medical Digital portfolio, focused on product strategy and business success. She has served many functions at McGraw Hill since starting with the company in 2012 – from support roles to editorial, before shifting her focus full-time to product management. She earned her Agile certification in 2019 and continued to complete Northwestern Kellogg’s Executive Education course in Product Strategy in 2020. The last two years, Amanda has focused on establishing a clear product strategy and standing up a functional product organization to help support McGraw Hill Professional’s shift to digital growth.

Dr. Joshi serves as Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education and Professor of Surgery at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in Camden, NJ. Until 2021, he was the residency Program Director and Vice-Chair for Academic Affairs for the Department of Surgery at Einstein Healthcare Network in Philadelphia. He is a 2022 awardee of the ACGME’s Parker J. Palmer “Courage to Teach” Award for Program Director Excellence. At Brown University’s 8-year Program in Liberal Medical Education, he received his BA in Music in 1997 and MD (with academic distinction) in 2001. He completed his surgical residency at New York Presbyterian/Cornell and fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at North Shore/Long Island Jewish Hospitals. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery. His clinical interests include general surgery with a focus on hernia repairs. His principal research interests are resident recruitment and curricular development within surgical training. He has authored over 150 scientific manuscripts and presentations.

Laura Ricci is a Senior Consultant at Clarke & Esposito, a management consulting firm focused on strategic issues in professional and academic publishing. In this role Laura supports a wide range of publisher and library clients, including not-for-profit societies and other professional organizations with strong publishing and education programs. Prior to joining C&E, Laura served as Senior Product Manager of Partnerships, eBooks for EBSCO Information Services, and as Senior Market Analyst for Education & Training and STM at Outsell. Laura began her career in education publishing with Houghton Mifflin and Pearson Education’s custom textbook division. Laura has previously served on the Society for Scholarly Publishing Board of Directors and as co-chair of the SSP Annual Meeting. She holds a master’s degree in International Publishing from Oxford Brookes University and a bachelor’s degree from University of Notre Dame.

Anna Troise is the Chief Commercial Officer for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a non-profit medical association representing more than 38,000 orthopaedic surgeons and allied health professionals. Anna is responsible for the Academy’s publishing, live events, product development and industry sales team – having evolved the traditional Association education portfolio into an integrated offering of high-quality content that captures customers’ needs in a personalized, relevant manner. Anna is an energetic, effective leader who enjoys helping organizations deliver results through developing dynamic working environments that inspire change, rethink the status quo, solve problems, and, have fun. Prior to joining the Academy, Anna served as Vice President, Medical and Open Access Publishing at Wolters Kluwer where she managed the U.S., U.K. and European medical journal publishing program. She has been active in scholarly publishing since 2006, previously serving as the Director of Publishing and Marketing of Allen Press. She is the Convener for the Coalition for Diversity and Inclusion in Scholarly Communication and past treasurer of the Kansas City Society of Association Executives. Melanie holds a Master of Science in Management from Baker University a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kansas State University and is a Certified Association Executive.

Joe Haddock is Chief Digital Officer of CyberRisk Alliance. His role provides strategic, hands-on leadership to the organization with goals including scaling the digital platform, growing the total audience database, and expanding the range of products and services we provide. As Vice President of Product, Hannah Heckner works to inform, prioritize, and execute on the Silverchair Platform Development Plan, as well as oversee the development of new Silverchair products. Jessica Lawrence-Hurt leads Cadmore Media’s sales and marketing efforts, bringing to bear her 15+ years experience in scholarly publishing. Most recently she managed international and library sales for MIT Press, and was head of marketing at Alexander Street. Patti Sweet is the Direct of Digital Strategy at Health Affairs. She focuses on digital strategy and the ways in which Health Affairs can promote itself and its content in digital spaces and to diverse audiences. She built her career working in digital marketing agencies and volunteering with service organizations and nonprofits, with half of her work based in London and the other half in the US. Patti received her bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Spanish from Michigan State University and she holds a master’s degree from the Hult International Business School in London.
