AORN defines and advances nursing best practices for surgical patients by researching, authoring, and distributing scientifically based guidelines. Their migration to the Silverchair Platform will include the hosting of their flagship publication, Guidelines for Perioperative Practice, an indispensable resource for evidence-based practice and education that establishes the standards of excellence in the delivery of perioperative nursing care.
The migration will also see Silverchair hosting Guideline Essentials, which is a suite of supplementary content such as Clinical FAQs and Tools, Evidence Tables, Guidelines at a Glance, Instruments at a Glance and more, which deliver time-sensitive information on critical topics in perioperative nursing, as well as valuable educational resources. Combined with the Guidelines, AORN will offer the next generation of digitally native tools for the perioperative workflow.
“AORN is intently focused on opportunities to upgrade dissemination of perioperative expertise across the field and wanted a long-term partner who offers the technology, stability, and strategy to allow them to implement the products possible by their unique content set,” said Thane Kerner, Silverchair CEO. “On the Silverchair Platform, AORN will be equipped to offer nursing professionals and educators flexible and novel methods for discovery, collaboration, and distribution.”
“We are excited to be launching a partnership with Silverchair, who have a shared vision for unique digital products that meet the needs of the 21st century clinical setting,” said AORN’s Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director, Linda Groah (MSN, RN, CNOR, NEA-BC, FAAN). “AORN seeks to improve perioperative care and patient outcomes via a reimagining of the Guidelines and Guideline Essentials into a single unified, discoverable, easy-to-use site. We view the Silverchair Platform as the ideal foundation for this effort.”
The new site launches in January 2018.
