In this series of blog posts, the Silverchair team will give you a preview of Platform Strategies’ program, a look behind the scenes at our planning and preparations, and share what we’re looking forward to. You can find out more about Platform Strategies here and request your invitation by writing Strategies@silverchair.com.
I’m really looking forward to Platform Strategies’ program and the conversations they’ll start within the growing Silverchair community and our industry friends in attendance. I’ve gone to a ton of industry conferences in my career and I’m excited about what we’re pulling together.
We’ll have Ian Bremmer discussing sovereign internets and geo-political risk. We’ll discuss the benefits and risks of open source, community driven, and commercial or proprietary solutions. We’re planning an interview with an industry expert on how STM publishers should be thinking about and can leverage their content and user data. We’ll unpack technosolutionism in ensuring research quality and address technical barriers to open access mandates. Along the way, there are roundtables and plenaries from outstanding industry leaders. We have a packed and what I hope will be a deeply informative and inspiring program.
Platform Strategies will also be my first opportunity to connect with the larger Silverchair community. I joined Silverchair from the American Association for the Advancement of Science/Science Magazine this past February. I’m excited to meet new people, connect with old colleagues in new ways, and welcome new clients and friends to our community. We think of the Silverchair Platform as being a hub or connector for our clients’ digital presence and strategy. I’m hoping Platform Strategies will be the same for our communities’ business strategy and vision.
