Seemingly out of nowhere the sun is setting sooner, it’s all back-to-school pics on social media, and cinnamon pinecones are popping up at the entrances to our supermarkets. There’s no denying it – Fall is upon us.

That also means that the Fall conference season is upon us too, and it’s looking to be a busy one for the Silverchair team. My teammates in Business Development, Customer Success, and Product will be hitting the road to share our insights and catch up with our industry colleagues. Below is a preview of where we’ll be (and when) and what you can expect to hear from us.

ALPSP, September 11-13, Manchester, UK

Silver Sponsor
The Business Development Team will be in attendance, and yours truly will also be presenting in Session 7a, Industry Updates, to share the latest from our AI Lab. The session will offer 5 minute lightning talks followed by Q&A. Can’t wait until then? You can read the latest on the AI Lab here.

OASPA, September 16-18, Lisbon, Portugal

Bronze Sponsor
VP of Strategic Partnerships Hannah Heckner Swain will be representing Silverchair and moderating the panel, “Assessing Real-World ROI: Tracing the Value of Open Access Publishing.” She will be joined by Tasha Mellins-Cohen (COUNTER), Blessing Mawire (Research4Life and CLIR), Rhodri Jackson (Oxford University Press), and Manisha Bolina (BMJ Impact Analytics) for a comprehensive examination of OA's ROI, insights into the practical tools and frameworks for evaluating the efficacy and impact of Open Access initiatives, and insights to make informed decisions and strategic investments in the future.

NISO Plus Global / Online, September 17-18, virtual

Byte-level Sponsor
NISO Plus is always an engaging conference, with its focus on interactivity and ensuring clear actions for further activity. Members of our team will be joining the virtual event to discuss persistent identifiers and metadata, emerging technologies and AI, research integrity, and more.

Platform Strategies, September 25, Washington, DC

I may be biased, but this is my favorite event of the year. One day filled with insightful, strategic discussions around technology, risk, and innovation, with ample networking thrown in. I learn so much and meet so many industry leaders at this event, and we’re already counting down the days. (Haven’t registered yet? Hurry—registration closes September 1st!)

SSP New Directions, October 1-2, Washington, DC

Sponsor
The theme of this year’s New Directions Seminar is “From Trends to Tactics: Shaping Scholarly Publishing's Near Future” and the agenda is packed with meaty topics: paradigm shifts, consolidation, AI as an ally in the workplace, and more. In addition to a chance to see our SSP friends, we’re also very excited about the private tour of the Rare Books at Special Collections at the Library of Congress!

STM Frankfurt & Frankfurt Book Fair, October 15-20, Frankfurt, Germany

Gold STM drinks sponsor / Stand # 4.0 E87 at FBF
First and foremost, we’re looking forward to seeing our industry friends and contacts at the Silverchair-sponsored STM Drinks reception. Later in the week, our stand at the Book Fair will be set up for plenty of meetings, casual catch-ups, and serendipitous connections. Our meeting calendar is already starting to fill up, so grab a spot with us!

Charleston Library Conference, November 11-15, Charleston, SC

Wrapping up the Fall meetings is Charleston. This meeting is a great chance to hear from librarians and other stakeholder whose perspectives aren’t as heavily represented in other meetings that Silverchair attends. Understanding the needs of our clients’ clients and users helps to support the empathetic and customer-driven approach that Silverchair is known for – and helps us to make decisions that truly solve problems for publishers, readers, and beyond.

We hope to see you at one of these Fall conference events – drop us a line at info@silverchair.com to schedule a meeting or to find a time to catch up virtually!
