The Analysis and Content Service is based on a strong application programming interface (API) that allows users to obtain raw data from their subscriptions to then use in their own text and data mining tools. To support its publishers, Silverchair has developed three APIs as part of the service: one to query a publisher’s open access content, another to provide access to a publisher's article metadata, and a third to provide access to full-text subscription content. The API returns .JSON files, the preferred format for most text and data mining tools.
“The Analysis and Content Service is a great extension of the Silverchair Platform. Our growing community of publishers are receiving more frequent text and data mining requests, and this service is another way we’ve made our platform more open and interoperable,” said Will Schweitzer, SVP, Product Management, Silverchair. “The service is also a great building block for other open science initiatives.”
The Analysis and Content Service allows users to query against a multitude of fields, which are similar to advanced search facets, including: DOI, publication date, article date, content type, content tags, subjects, e-ISSN/ISBN, article type, product codes, and more. Usage of the Analysis and Content Service will be tracked and will be available as part of the Silverchair Platform’s reporting package. Clients should reach out to their PDM if interested.
